WHAT TO EXPECT IN A COUNSELING SESSION
In a typical Score session, you will meet with 1-3 experienced counselors
who will spend an hour with you, focusing on specific issues for which you
need answers. You may come alone, or with your partners or spouse.
Score services are offered on a continuing basis, and we often meet with
entrepreneurs many times, functioning as mentors and coaches as your
business goes forward.
All information is confidential, and we are bound by the Score Code of Ethics. There is no charge for this service.
When your business is at the "idea" stage
Please come prepared to give us as much background information as possible, such as your past business or work experience, why your business idea seems "right" for you, who your customers will be for your product or service, and why you think you can be successful. We have a variety of publications and sources of information that will help you move forward.
When you've really begun to plan
We can discuss ways to protect your business identity or product, creation of a business plan, pricing, cash flow projections, marketing plans, finding and leasing business space, and how to work with legal and accounting professionals. Bring us your questions.
For those already in business
You may have questions on about expansion, whether purchasing additional equipment is a good idea, issues with employees, analyzing which products or services are worth offering, marketing plans to boost business, or any of the countless challengies and opportunities that are part of small business.
When you make a counseling appointment, please keep in mind that Score counselors have set aside time and will be traveling specifically to meet with you. If your plans change, please be sure to advise us as soon as possible.
